Book content is great, and you will learn what you need to learn. My only complaint isn't necessarily with the content but with the new book's format. The 3rd edition is published in black in white instead of color like the previous 2nd edition. This seems illogical and counter intuitive! Why would you go from printing a book designed to be in color to black and white with this new edition, especially when you are trying to improve the books content and efficacy? I reason its due to the publisher trying to save money on printing costs. This is truly disappointing, because multiple pictures are in different shades of grey/black, thus limiting your ability to look at a diagram and quickly and efficiently organize the information in your mind. I feel like the color coding of information helps to activate and stimulate other visual portions of the brain that significantly aids in learning and recall. Which would seem to me to correspond with the authors main teaching goals and objectives. Please Dr. Modi, go back to the publisher and make them print any further editions or revisions in color! You have worked too hard on this book to allow something as small as a format and color issue to hinder your great work and effort. Besides for this issue, Dr Modi has done a terrific job organizing and presenting the material in an easy to digest and understandable manner.Product details

Came it ripped
I got this book just a week before my test and It helped me in every possible way to improve my biochem section..I will consider it the easiest, simplest and best way to study biochem...its not just a book its a workbook as well....so well managed. A grtt effort to help studrnts preparing for nbdr part 1. I strongly recommend this book...its worth every single penny u spend on it.
Great content but poor quality. Papers can be torn off the spiral very easily.
Just so you are aware, this came as a black and white book, which I wasn't expecting. It has a lot of valuable content, but I was really disappointed by the fact that none of the charts were color coded in this version, but were in the second edition. Seems a little counter-productive.
This book is a great educational tool. I recommend using it while in your Biochem course (even before Board prep is on the horizon) so you'll know what will be expected of you in terms of Biochem on the Boards. This book is enjoyable to read, and its jargon sticks unlike mundane ordinary textbooks. It gives a concise, clear explanation of the important facts. You get a clear overview while keeping the important points in mind (versus a regular text which may be intimidating for the first time Biochem student). This edition contains numerous questions which have either appeared on previous exams or are in the style of previous exam questions. Do yourself the favor of allowing Biochem to be one of your best sections after using this study guide. Best of luck on your Boards!
This is the book to have to understand Biochemistry, not only for the Dental Boards. The content is made "easy" to understand with mnemonics to help you remember. I very much recommend this book when studying for the NDBE I and supplement it with UTUBE videos of Armando Hasudungan who describes the metabolic process with animation. A+!
I love this book. As we all know to prepare for NBDE 1 and special biochemistry section isn't easy. It helped me with a basics of biochemistry. Subjects described very easy and comprehensive include the fact that English is my the second language. Also, the book has only the subjects that mentioned in NBDE 1 exam and nothing extra. As well book includes the practice questions for each section. I have passed my NBDE 1. Thank you.
